Volunteering at St. Timothy School

Parents' positive participation sends a strong message to their children about the family's commitment to their education and future and the importance of building community.

There are many ways to get involved at St. Timothy School: assisting in the classroom, chaperoning field trips, participating in Parents Club events, Fall Fundraiser, our annual auction and Spring Carnival.

Volunteers are an essential part of what makes our school great. You bring ideas, energy and expertise. Please complete the Volunteer Resource Form so that your interest and skills can be matched with the volunteer opportunities this year.

Service Commitment

When registering their children each year, two parent households are asked to make a commitment to the school of a minimum of forty (40) hours of service. (Single parent households, twenty (20) hours). The parish does provide financial support to the school each year. These funds help reduce the tuition that each family pays to educate their children at St. Timothy. Families who choose not to work the required hours must pay the Non-Participation Tuition Rate of tuition. Families with an eighth grader must complete their service hours by May 1 of the graduating year. All other families must complete their service hours by the last day of school.

A maximum of twenty (20) service hours (ten hours (10) for single parent families) may be worked for the parish, or in an organization associated with the school, e.g. scouting organizations or bingo. Parish hours must be approved in writing, in advance, by the pastor. This written verification must be submitted. Families who choose not to work the required hours, or do not complete all hours, must pay the FULL Non-Participation Tuition Rate. Parents may NOT work a portion of the hours and pay a fee for hours not completed based on an IRS ruling.

All families who choose to do 40 (Single parent 20) hours of volunteer service to the school (parish) are expected to volunteer 2 hours at the Halloween Carnival (October). All participating families must also provide six (6) hours to benefit the Spring Carnival (April). You will receive information prior to these events informing you of opportunities to earn these hours. If you do not meet this requirement you will be required to pay the Non-Participation rate of tuition ($750.00 more.)

NOTE: Parents who perform service hours are asked to sign a service hour record at each event. Report hours here. If no service hours are performed by October 30 of the current school year, the family will be automatically converted to the Non-Participation Tuition Rate.
